Our young people had the chance to participate in two international trips to France and Vietnam to help local communities. Through partner collaborations, we manage to arrange volunteering experiences for them in different international communities. We believe these international trips are a great learning experience that will shape their identities and personalities in the future. Also, It will widen their vision of the issues of the world and increase their empathy. Our work with them in there has actually proven to be really powerful and we will keep working to develop more opportunities like these ones. All activities and practicalities were fully funded to ensure the accessibility of all kinds of young people to the international trips.
A group of 5 of our young volunteers were lucky enough to spend 3 weeks in Vietnam – Ho Chi Mihn City – working in a school for street children and orphanage teaching English, Dance and Football to the pupils. The once in a lifetime experience was organised in conjunction with IVS – International Voluntary Services.
In October 2015 9 young people plus 2 staff travelled to Laguepie in France in conjunction with Solidaritie Jeunesse & Citrus/Exchange Scotland for 2 weeks to work on a construction project at a local school/community project. Such was the impact of the work of the young volunteers A&M Scotland have been invited to plan for international visits to Italy and Poland in 2016.
