A year into the pandemic…
When the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic forced all Achieve More sessions to stop, we understood that this was an opportunity to offer a wider community support and start initiatives to keep the community engaged with physical activities that allow families to improve their situation.
Because of that, we started our partnership with Fontana Fit in March 2020. Sean originally comes from Drumchapel where he faced many of the challenges that Achieve More Scotland participants face on a daily basis, which is why he feels such an affinity with the work of the charity. Sean is a National 10,000 metres champion, twice a national 5000 metres Track & Field Champion, an American Conference 5000 metre champion and has competed in middle distances races for Scotland. Over the last year, he has created a wide selection of videos that we release every Monday afternoon to keep Glasgow’s young people active and healthy.
Apart from providing physical and mental health benefits through these indoor physical activity sessions, Achieve More also has a commitment to continue delivering the educational aspects of the programme that had previously been offered. Because of that, Fontana Fit not only focus on fitness targets, but also provided information about how to prevent injuries, motivation to the participants and Yoga classes to unwind and take care of your mind as well as your body.
All training sessions are compiled in the playlist down below and you can also come to our social media platforms to check the latest video.
