Help make a difference to the lives of children and young people
We are proud to support Children’s Mental Health Week in 2023. This campaign was originated by Place2Be and it launched their first-ever Children’s Mental Health Week in 2015 to shine a spotlight on the importance of children and young people’s mental health. Our work allow us to understand the impact that physical activity and community support can have on a child’s mental health. We believe it is essential to approach it from a holistic perspective and we hope to spread the word of Children’s Mental Health Week to encourage teachers, carers, parents and youth workers to host activities that can improve young people’s health at all levels.
Every year, Place2Be’s expert team develops resources to help people participate in the week. From activity ideas and assembly guides to top tips and videos, our free resources will help you explore mental health and wellbeing with the children and young people around you.
Children’s Mental Health Week 2023 will take place from 6-12 February 2023. This year’s theme is Let’s Connect.
Human beings thrive in communities, and this connection is vital for our well-being, and our survival. When we have healthy connections – to family, friends and others – this can support our mental health and our sense of well-being. And when our need for rewarding social connections is not met, we can sometimes feel isolated and lonely – which can have a negative impact on our mental health.
Let’s Connect is about making meaningful connections for all, during Children’s Mental Health Week – and beyond.
For Children’s Mental Health Week 2023, we’re encouraging people to connect with others in healthy and meaningful ways. Watch the video below to learn more about the theme.
