10 young people to Ullswater in the English Lake District
A&M Scotland take 10 young people on a residential to Ullswater in the English Lake District. The young people spent 3 days participating in outdoor activities, pushing them to their limits.
The weekend was run by ‘The Outward Bounds Trust’ at their purpose built centre in Ullswater. The Outward Bounds Trust is an educational charity that uses the outdoors to help develop young people, equipping them with valuable skills for education, work and life.
Whilst away the young people faced challenges and experienced adrenaline fuelled activities. They participated in potholing, canoeing, rock climbing and gorge walking as well as other team building activities. These activities helped to build confidence as well as encourage team building and decision making skills.
We would like to extend a massive thanks to The Outward Bound Trust for a great weekend and in particular Bex, who looked after the group for the weekend! We can’t wait to have more residentials as good as this one!
A&M are continuing to provide free sport throughout the City of Glasgow to ensure that young people can remain active. Following on from the success of the Easter Camp and Summer Camps this year, A&M are looking to run another camp during the October holiday so that young people are able to participate in sport. If you would like to support our camps or any of the work we do then please visit our ‘Support Us‘ page.
