“An incredible and unbelievable experience, thanks Scotland”

We leave you here the words from Ana talking about her volunteering experience in Scotland. She was working with Achieve More Scotland participating in a youth led project from the 29th of June to the 20th of July of 2019. This project has been funded by the Erasmus+ programme.

“An incredible and unbelievable experience, thanks Scotland”

I describe myself as…

A solidary person, empathetic and happy that takes care of her environment and her loved ones.

I can’t live without…

Art, animals, nature and cactus.

Why did I decide to have an international volunteering experience?

Because I wanted to have a new experience in my life, get to know other cultures and people and bring my support into a project.

The main tasks and activities that I have undertaken have been…

Watching the kids, making games and sport activities with them, organising or selecting the materials for each team by colours and also pick up the equipment at the end.

What have I brought into the project?

I hope that I brought happiness and good energy, enthusiasm and fun to the kids and the activities.

The main challenge for me has been…

The language, and learning how to communicate in any possible way.

I have discovered that I am capable of…

Communicating without knowing the language, living with other people and be more outgoing.

The best moment during my volunteering has been…

Getting to know new people with whom I have shared many beautiful moments and forming lasting friendships.

Something surprising/ funny about my experience abroad…

There have been lots of incredible and unbelievable moments, what I remember the most is the good moments shared with my peers, the trips, the parties, the times at the organisation, with the kids…

If I would have to highlight something I would choose our trip to Loch Lomond, because the nature was incredible.

We would like to thank Europa Joven Madrid, La Coordinadora Infantil y Juvenil de Tiempo Libre de Vallecas for their participation on this international project. They have also facilitated the interview that you just read.
